• New York Family Vacation

When planning your New York family vacation, there are a number of things New York has to offer that you absolutely cannot miss. While some of New York’s attractions are better suited for adults or couples on an adventurous or romantic getaway, New York is also a wonderful place for kids and families to spend their vacation and have a great time.

While planning your New York family vacation, be sure to include time to visit some of the city’s fine children’s museums. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Long Island each have children’s museums your kids will enjoy, so plan on spending some fun time there. The Sony Wonder Technology Lab in New York is even free, but you must have a reservation to get in, so be sure and plan for that stop.

The Bronx Zoo is a great tourist attraction and a great option for your New York vacation. Kids love animals, and zoos are something the parents can enjoy just as much, so include at least one of the city’s zoos in your New York family vacation plans. The New York Aquarium on Coney Island has lots of educational exhibits, too.

What New York trip would be complete without an ice-skating trip? If you’re traveling during the winter, there’s ice-skating at Bryant Park or the Rockefeller Center—both places you’ll probably want to include in your trip for other reasons, too. If the weather’s warm, then there are a number of popular indoor ice-skating rinks you and your family can enjoy.

Broadway may be about the lights and the razzle dazzle, and you might not think of a Broadway show as a great place for kids, but there are always family-friendly shows available that can please a hard-to-make-happy teen right down to the toddler set.

A great way to find the best family-friendly shows, restaurants and sights is with a phone call to one of New York’s tourist and information centers, or a quick search online. Then you can be sure your New York family vacation will be fun for the whole family.
